Apologies

To receive any apologies for absence.

An apology for absence was received from Cllr Pipe due to a conflict of interest.

Election of Chairman

Minutes:

In the absence of the Chairman, a Chairman was elected for the duration of the meeting.

 

Proposed by Cllr Morgan, seconded by Cllr Lugg.

 

Resolved

That Cllr Parker be elected Chairman for the duration of the meeting.

The minutes of the meeting held on 6 November 2020 were confirmed and would be signed at a later date.

Declarations of Interest

To receive any declarations of interest.

Minutes:

Cllr Lugg declared a non-pecuniary interest in PT’s appeal due to the appellant being an acquaintance. Cllr Lugg did not take part in the decision making process and withdrew from that part of the meeting.

Public Participation

To receive questions or statements on the business of the committee from town and parish councils and members of the public.

 

The deadline for submission of the full text of a question or statement is 8.30 am on Tuesday, 1 December 2020.

Urgent items

To consider any items of business which the Chairman has had prior notification and considers to be urgent pursuant to section 100B (4) b) of the Local Government Act 1972. The reason for the urgency shall be recorded in the minutes.

29.

Exempt Business

To move the exclusion of the press and the public for the following item in view of the likely disclosure of exempt information within the meaning of paragraph 1 and 2 of schedule 12 A to the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

The public and the press will be asked to leave the meeting whilst the item of business is considered.

That the press and the public be excluded for the following item(s) in view of the likely disclosure of exempt information within the meaning of paragraph 1 and 2 of schedule 12 A to the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

School Transport Appeals

To consider the school transport appeals as set out in the exempt report by the Executive Director of People - Children.

Minutes:

The Committee considered a number of appeals against the Council’s refusal to provide a pupil with school transport support.

 

Resolved

1.    That the appeal on behalf of ADT against the Council’s refusal to provide transport support between her home and Sandford St. Martin’s CE VA Primary School, be refused.

2.    That the appeal on behalf of PT against the Council’s refusal to provide transport support between her home and Dorchester Middle School, be refused.

3.    That the appeal on behalf of LM, TM, RM, and AM against the Council’s refusal to provide transport support between their home and Sandford St. Martin’s CE VA Primary School, be refused.
