Variation for the Café on the Square, Wimborne PDF 107 KB An application has been made to vary the licence at The Café on the Square
in Wimborne. The application has been out to public consultation and has
attracted representations. A Licensing Sub-Committee must consider the
application and representations at a public hearing. Additional documents:
Minutes: The Licensing Team Leader presented the report for a variation to the licence for The Café on the Square, Wimborne to add off sales to the licence and to extend the times alcohol can be sold to 11.00-23.00 daily. Licensing Officers were not aware of any complaints for the day to day running of the business, nor when operating under a Temporary Event Notice licence. Cllr Shane Bartlett read a statement on behalf of Wimborne Town Council relaying concerns for the residents living on the Square. |

Urgent items To consider any items of
business which the Chairman has had prior notification and considers to be
urgent pursuant to section 100B (4) b) of the Local Government Act 1972. The
reason for the urgency shall be recorded in the minutes. Minutes: There were no urgent items. |

Exempt Business To move the exclusion of the press and the public
for the following item in view of the likely disclosure of exempt information within
the meaning of paragraph x of schedule 12 A to the Local Government Act 1972
(as amended). The public and the press will be asked to leave the
meeting whilst the item of business is considered. Minutes: It was proposed by Cllr Wheller, seconded by
Cllr Dyer. Decision: That the press and the public be
excluded for the following item(s) in view of the likely disclosure of exempt
information within the meaning of paragraph 3 of schedule 12 A to the Local
Government Act 1972 (as amended). The Sub-Committee retired to make their
decision. Decision: To GRANT
the variation of the Premises Licence to allow the sale of alcohol on the
premises every day from 11:00 to 23:00 and the sale of alcohol off the premises
between the hours of 11:00 and 23:00 on Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve or on any
day when an event is held as set out in condition numbered 2 below, and both
subject to condition numbered 1 below: 1. A clear notice shall be displayed
at every exit from the premises to instruct customers to respect the needs
of local residents and leave the premises and the area quietly. 2.
Off sales of alcohol are permitted only on days when there is a
bona fide event taking place in the area known as The Square, Wimborne Dorset
and on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. |
