No declarations of disclosable pecuniary interests were made at the meeting.

Welcome, introductions and appointment of Chairman

Minutes:

It was proposed by Cllr Jones and agreed by the panel that Cllr Parker was the Chairman of the Sub-Committee.

Cllr Parker welcomed everyone and invited everyone present to introduce themselves.

She then outlined the procedure to be followed for the meeting.

Exempt Business - Determination of an application for a Private Hire Drivers Licence

To move the exclusion of the press and the public for the following item in view of the likely disclosure of exempt information within the meaning of paragraph 3 of schedule 12 A to the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

Proposed by Cllr Jones and agreed by the panel that:

 

The press and the public be excluded for the following item(s) in view of the likely disclosure of exempt information within the meaning of paragraph 3 of schedule 12 A to the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

Exempt Report

EXEMPT - Not for publication by virtue of paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 as amended by the Local Government (Access to Information) (Variations) Order 2006 – EXEMPT INFORMATION 

 

Minutes:

The sub-committee considered a report on whether the applicant was “fit and proper” to hold a Private Hire Driver’s Licence. The Licensing Team Leader set out the details of the application, all information had been submitted within the report.

Members heard evidence and information from the applicant and his potential employers, who were in attendance in support of his application..

Following an opportunity for all parties to make their case, members asked questions of the applicant..

All parties were given an opportunity to sum up their case before the sub-committee withdrew to consider their decision.

The sub-committee adjourned for members to make their decision and on returning.

Decision:

After careful consideration of all the evidence presented to them the sub-committee concluded that the application for a Private Hire Licence should be granted.
