Getting Involved

Dorset Council fully supports the principle of openness and transparency and welcomes you to attend any public committee meeting to observe.

You may also stream and/or record meetings should you wish to do so. Before doing so, please read our protocol for filming and audio recording of Public Council meetings for more information.

You can also participate in a meeting by asking a question or making a statement. The following documents will explain the procedure.

Anyone who lives, works or studies in the Dorset Council area may sign or organise a petition to the Council. Please see the Submitting a Petition for more details.

Members of the public can also suggest a scrutiny topic or contribute to a review by submitting appropriate evidence. If you have a particular interest please contact the Democratic Services Team
