Wessex Water 5th September 2022 until 23rd September 2022 24 hours a day  - Studland Road, Corfe Castle 

 

This Order will install a temporary speed limit for vehicle when passing Wessex Water's works site to enable them to replace a water main.   

 

Consultation period:  18th March 2022 – 2nd August 2022 

 

Significant comments received.  Consultation Lead to  

 

 

Contacted key stakeholders in advance and advised of different dates that works could commence.   

 

Option 1: Wessex Water road closure to take place for 5 weeks between 31st October 2022 to 5th December 2022 in conjunction with the Ferry refurbishment or Option 2: Wessex Water road closure to take place for 5 weeks starting on 3rd January 2023 until 7th February 2023 

 

The majority of the consultation responses were in favour of Option 1, rather than Option 2.  However as comments were mixed decision was passed to Cllr Simon Gibson and Cllr Ray Bryan. 

 

Reasons for the decision:

 

Notice under Section 14 [1]/[2] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 as amended. 

 

because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road;
