Traffic Regulation Order – extend the current seasonal
Prohibition of Vehicles restriction to all year at Shore Road, Swanage.
That having considered the experimental order to implement
as permanent.
The experimental
traffic regulation order (ETRO) has been in place from 1st October
2022.
Proceeding by ETRO
allowed the proposal to complete a formal public consultation for one full year
incorporating all seasons. Having considered the comments made during
consultation the safety concerns outweighed any negative feedback.
Traffic through the
autumn/ winter period was considered reduced compared to spring/summer when the
original seasonal restriction was in place.
Full support
received by all key stakeholders before and throughout the ETRO consultation
period.
