That the annual report be received and noted.

The Cabinet Member of Children’s Services, Education and Skills presented the information report and the 2024–2025 reporting year. This marked a significant milestone for the Dorset Safeguarding Children Partnership (DSCP), following its formal separation from the Pan-Dorset Safeguarding Children Partnership in August 2024. This transition had enabled Dorset to establish safeguarding arrangements that were more responsive to local needs and better aligned with national reforms.

The new structure reflected the principles set out in Working Together to Safeguard Children (2023) and the Stable Homes, Built on Love review, ensuring that Dorset’s approach to safeguarding was both robust and forward-looking. The annual report outlined progress made under the new arrangements and set the direction for continued improvement in safeguarding outcomes for children and young people across the county.
