Decision:
That the Post Inspection Action Plan be received and noted.
Reason for the decision
Dorset Council had a statutory duty to deliver
effective safeguarding services and improve outcomes for children in care and
care experienced young people. The impact of an effective Children’s Services
contributed to the ‘communities for all’ priority in the Council Plan.
The report provided assurance that Children’s Services
were continuing to learn from inspections and improve services to the
communities of Dorset.
Minutes:
The Cabinet Member for Children Services, Education and Skills reminded members that following Ofsted’s ILACS inspection in March, Dorset’s Children’s Services were rated Outstanding overall with care leavers graded Good. Strong progress was being made with the Post Inspection Action Plan, especially enhancing support for care experienced young people and young parents.
The report also provided assurance that the Council would continue to learn, improve, and deliver for Dorset’s children and families.
