business which the Chairman has had prior notification and considers to be

Committee-Report-Review-Wood Fired Piadizza PDF 98 KB Dorset Police have applied for a review of the premises licence for the
Wood Fired Piadizza, licensed as Unit 5 Jessop House, Wimborne under section 51
of the Licensing Act 2003 on the grounds of public safety and the prevention of
crime and disorder. The application has been out to public consultation and
has attracted several representations. A Licensing Sub-Committee must consider
the application and representations at a public hearing. Additional documents: Minutes: The Licensing Team Leader
presented the report. She advised that Dorset Police, the applicant, had applied for a review of the premises
licence for the Wood Fired Piadizza, licensed as Unit
5 Jessop House, Wimborne under section 51 of the Licensing Act 2003 on the
grounds of public safety and the prevention of crime and disorder. The
Licensing Team Leader highlighted the options available to the sub-committee. Vanessa Rosales, Dorset Police Licensing Officer
addressed the sub-committee. She advised
that a number of complaints had been received and the
premises were not meeting their licencing conditions. There were no questions from the sub-committee at
this stage for Dorset Police. Mr Brown, the Licence Holder was invited to put his
case forward, the sub-committee were then invited to put their questions to the
Licence Holder. The two representatives from Dorset Police and the
Licensing Team Leader were also invited to question the Licence Holder, however
they had no questions at this stage. The Chairman then invited the Licence Holder to ask
questions of Dorset Police and the Licensing Team Leader. After everyone
present was given a further opportunity to put questions forward all parties
were invited to sum up their case. At this juncture Louise Busfield,
Dorset Police Licensing Officer, asked the sub-committee members and the
Licence Holder if they had all had the opportunity to view the body camera
footage that had accompanied the review application. All sub-committee
members and the Licence Holder confirmed that they had seen the recording. The Licensing Team Leader reminded the
sub-committee of the decision options available to them. A final opportunity to speak was offered to all
parties before the sub-committee retired to make their decision. |

Exempt Business To move the exclusion of the press and the public
for the following item in view of the likely disclosure of exempt information within
the meaning of paragraph x of schedule 12 A to the Local Government Act 1972
(as amended). The public and the press will be asked to leave the
meeting whilst the item of business is considered. Minutes: Proposed by Cllr Parker, seconded by Cllr
Wheller. Decision: That the press and the
public be excluded for the following item(s) in view of the likely disclosure of
exempt information within the meaning of paragraph 3 of schedule 12 A to the Local Government
Act 1972 (as amended). The sub-committee retired to make their
decision: Decision: To SUSPEND the Premises Licence for a period
of 3 months, to enable the premises licence holder to undertake training in
licensing law to improve his knowledge of his responsibilities as a licence
holder. Confirmation of the training undertaken to be provided to the Council’s
Head of Licensing. |
