Existing Taxi Driver Complaint - Mr C Minutes: Proposed by Cllr Parker, seconded by Cllr Heatley Decision: that Cllr Andrews be elected to chair the
application for Mr C The Sub-Committee considered a report
to determine whether an applicant for a hackney carriage drivers' licence was a
fit and proper person to hold the licence after a complaint regarding his
behaviour was received from a member of the public. Mr C was invited to put forward his case and Sub-Committee
members were invited to put questions to the Licensing Officer and Mr C. Mr C was given the opportunity to sum up and the
Sub-Committee retired to make their decision. Decision: That Mr C be given a verbal warning as to his future conduct. |

New Taxi Driver Application - Ms R Minutes: Proposed by Cllr Andrews, seconded by Cllr Heatley Decision: that Cllr Parker be elected to chair the
application for Mrs R The Sub-Committee considered a report
to determine whether an applicant for a hackney carriage drivers' licence was a
fit and proper person to hold the licence after an offence was revealed during
the application process. There were no questions from the Sub-Committee or the applicant for the Licensing Team Leader. Ms R was given the opportunity to put
her case forward and the Sub-Committee was given the opportunity to ask questions of the applicant. There were no questions from the
Licensing Officer. Following summing up, the
Sub-Committee retired to make their decision. Decision: To GRANT the application for a Hackney Carriage Driver’s Licence. |

Taxi Driver Renewal Application - Ms S Minutes: Proposed by Cllr Parker, seconded by Cllr Andrews Decision: that Cllr Heatley be elected to chair the application for Ms S The Sub-Committee considered a report to
determine whether an applicant for a hackney carriage drivers' licence remained
a fit and proper person to hold the licence after a motoring offence was
revealed during the application process. Sub-Committee members were given the opportunity to ask questions of the Licensing
Team Leader. The applicant was invited to put her case forward and the Sub-Committee asked questions of the applicant. There were no questions from the Licensing Team Leader for the applicant. Ms S was given the opportunity to sum up her case and the Sub-Committee retired to make their decision. Decision; To GRANT the renewal of the Hackney
Carriage Driver’s Licence, but with a formal written warning as to future
conduct and a requirement that Ms S must inform the Licensing Authority of any
further motoring offence within 72 hours of the offence occurring. |

application process. The Sub-Committee was given
the opportunity to ask questions of Mr A The Applicant was given the opportunity to put his case
forward. There were no further questions from the Sub-Committee or the Licensing Team
Leader. Mr A was given the opportunity
to sum up his case. The Sub-Committee retired to
make their decision. Decision: To GRANT the
application for a Private Hire Driver’s Licence. |

Taxi Driver Conviction - Mr K Minutes: Proposed by Cllr Heatley, seconded by Cllr Parker Decision: that Cllr Andrews be elected to chair the application for Mr K The Sub-Committee considered a report to
determine whether a licenced hackney carriage driver remained a fit and proper
person to continue to hold a licence after being recently convicted of offences
of dishonesty. Mr K was given the opportunity to
present his case to the Sub-Committee. All parties were invited to ask questions. Mr K and the Licensing Team Leader were offered the opportunity
to sum up their cases before the Sub-Committee retired to make their decision. Decision:
That
Mr K was a fit and proper person to retain a Hackney Carriage Driver’s Licence.
