Declarations of Interest To disclose any pecuniary, other registrable or non-registrable interests as set out in the adopted Code of Conduct. In making their disclosure councillors are asked to state the agenda item, the nature of the interest and any action they propose to take as part of their declaration. If required, further advice should be sought from the Monitoring Officer in advance of the meeting. Minutes: No declarations of disclosable pecuniary interests were made at the meeting. |

Exempt Business To consider passing the following
recommendation: Recommendation That in accordance with Section 100A(4) of
the Local Government Act 1972 to exclude the public from the meeting for the
business specified in item(s) No 6, 7 and 8 because it is likely that if
members of the public were present there would be disclosure to them of exempt
information as defined in paragraph(s) 1 of Part 1 of schedule 12A to the Act
and the public interest in withholding the information outweighs the public
interest in disclosing the information to the public. The public and the press will be asked
to leave the meeting whilst the item of business is considered. (Any live
streaming will end at this juncture). Reason for taking the item in private. Paragraph 1 - Information relating to

the press and the public be excluded for the following item(s) in view of the

Taxi Driver Application Minutes: The Sub-Committee considered a report to determine whether
the Applicant remained a fit and proper person to hold a combined Hackney
Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s Licence
after offences were revealed during the application for renewal. The Licensing Team Leader presented her report. The Applicant was subsequently invited to put their case
forward and all parties were given the opportunity to ask questions of each
other and to sum up. The sub-committee retired to make its decision. Decision: To REFUSE the Combined Hackney Carriage
and Private Hire Driver’s Licence. |

Non-Compliance with DBS Check Minutes: The Licensing Team Leader introduced the report. A number of drivers had failed to respond to repeated requests
to do a six-monthly DBS Check as required by the Taxi Licensing Policy adopted
in April 2022. Decision: To suspend with immediate effect the licences
of those named drivers who have failed to respond to repeated requests to
undertake a DBS check until such time as a DBS check has been completed. To
suspend the licences of those named drivers who have, following repeated
requests, begun the DBS process but have not yet completed the DBS check until
such time as the DBS check has been completed. |
