A Temporary Event Notice has been served on the Council to extend the hours of Chic Bar and Club in Weymouth. The Notice has been considered by the Police and Environmental Protection. Both the Police and Environmental Protection have served Objection Notices. A Licensing Sub-Committee must consider the Notice and the Objection Notices at a public hearing.
Minutes:
The
Licensing Team Leader presented the report for a Temporary Event Notice (TEN)
which had been served on the Licensing Authority by Mr Parviz Panjalizadeh-Marseh
for Chic Bar and Club at 3-5 Maiden Street, to cover the period from 0200 hours
on Sunday 1 January 2023 until 04:00 hours on Sunday morning.
The
Licensing Team Leader reminded the sub-committee that at this stage they could
not alter the TEN but could add either all or some of the conditions from the premises
licence.
The sub-committee
were invited to ask questions of the Licensing Team Leader who advised that
there had been no reported concerns following the granting of a TEN for
Halloween in October.
The Licence Holder
was invited to put his case forward. He
reiterated that there had been no issues of police or ambulances being called
to the premises and he employed a robust security team from Bournemouth. Everyone
who entered the premises were security checked before being allowed entry.
There were no
questions for the License Holder.
The Police and
Environmental Team Leader were invited to put their cases forward.
In response to
member questions the sub-committee were re-assured by the Responsible
Authorities that there had been no complaints following the TEN issued for
Halloween.
All parties were
given the opportunity to sum up their cases before the sub-committee retired to
make their decision.
