Dorset Council Housing Delivery Test Action Plan

Decision

That the Dorset Council Housing Delivery Test Action Plan be approved.

 

Reason for the Decision

To meet the requirements of national planning policy, as set out in the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), regarding the preparation of a Housing Delivery Test Action Plan.

 

Alternative Options considered and rejected

The Council could decide not a prepare a Housing Delivery test Action Plan. However, this would be contrary to national planning policy.

 

Consultees

The Action Plan has not been subject to public consultation. The Government’s Planning Practice Guidance sets out that there is no formal requirements to consult on an Action Plan. Furthermore, its outlines that local planning authorities should be mindful of the need to produce the document in a timely fashion.

 

Budget Implications

There are no direct costs relating to the production and publication of the Action Plan itself apart from staff time. Some of the actions identified in the plan have cast associated with them. However, a number of these costs are budgeted for. Where they are not, it is likely that separate budget related decisions will have to be made in the future.
