Apologies

To receive any apologies for absence.

 

Minutes:

An apology for absence was received from Cllr Bill Pipe.

 

2.

Election of Chairman

Minutes:

In the absence of the Chairman, a Chairman was elected for the duration of the meeting.

 

Proposed by Cllr Cook, seconded by Cllr Barron.

 

Decision

That Cllr Legg be appointed Chairman for the duration of the meeting.

3.

Declarations of Interest

To disclose any pecuniary, other registerable or personal interest as set out in the adopted Code of Conduct. In making their disclosure councillors are asked to state the agenda item, the nature of the interest and any action they propose to take as part of their declaration.

 

If required, further advice should be sought from the Monitoring Officer in advance of the meeting.

Public Participation

To receive questions or statements on the business of the committee from town and parish councils and members of the public.

 

The deadline for submission of the full text of a question or statement is 8.30 am on Wednesday, 12 May 2021.

Urgent items

To consider any items of business which the Chairman has had prior notification and considers to be urgent pursuant to section 100B (4) b) of the Local Government Act 1972. The reason for the urgency shall be recorded in the minutes.

6.

Exempt Business

To move the exclusion of the press and the public for the following item in view of the likely disclosure of exempt information within the meaning of paragraph 1 and 2 of schedule 12 A to the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

The public and the press will be asked to leave the meeting whilst the item of business is considered.

Decision

That the press and the public be excluded for the following item in view of the likely disclosure of exempt information within the meaning of paragraph 1 and 2 of schedule 12 A to the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

7.

School Transport Appeals

To consider the school transport appeals as set out in the exempt report by the Executive Director of People – Children.

Minutes:

The Committee considered appeals against the Council’s refusal to provide pupils with school transport support.

 

Decision

1.    That the appeal on behalf of EC, against the Council’s refusal to provide school transport between her home and Sturminster Newton High School, be allowed until the end of term July 2022.

2.    That the appeal on behalf of XB and DB, against the Council’s refusal to provide school transport between their home and Charmouth Primary School, be allowed until the end of term July 2021.
