In the absence of the Chairman, Vice-Chair, Cllr Paul Harrison chaired the meeting.

To receive any apologies for absence.

Apologies for absence were received from Cllr Bill Pipe and Cllr Paul Kimber.

To disclose any pecuniary, other registerable or non-registerable interests as set out in the adopted Code of Conduct. In making their disclosure councillors are asked to state the agenda item, the nature of the interest and any action they propose to take as part of their declaration.

If required, further advice should be sought from the Monitoring Officer in advance of the meeting.

No declarations of disclosable pecuniary interests were made at the meeting.

To receive questions or statements on the business of the committee from town and parish councils and members of the public.

There was no public participation to report.

To consider any items of business which the Chairman has had prior notification and considers to be urgent pursuant to section 100B (4) b) of the Local Government Act 1972. The reason for the urgency shall be recorded in the minutes.

To move the exclusion of the press and the public for the following item in view of the likely disclosure of exempt information within the meaning of paragraph 1 of schedule 12 A to the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

The public and the press will be asked to leave the meeting whilst the item of business is considered.

Decision

That the press and the public be excluded for the following item(s) in view of the likely disclosure of exempt information within the meaning of paragraph 1 of schedule 12 A to the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

To consider the School Transport Appeals as set out in the report by the Corporate Director for Education and Learning.

The Committee considered a number of appeals against the Council’s refusal to provide pupils with school transport support

1.    The appeal on behalf of RH, against the Council’s refusal to provide school transport between their home and St John’s Primary School, be refused.

2.    The appeal on behalf of EM, against the Council’s refusal to provide school transport between their home and The Dorset Studio School, be refused.

3.    The appeal on behalf of IM, against the Council’s refusal to provide school transport between their home and Lytchett Minster School, be refused.

4.    That the appeal on behalf of LT, against the Council’s refusal to provide school transport between their home and Damers First School, be granted until 31st July 2022.

5.    That the appeal on behalf of TT, against the Council’s refusal to provide school transport between their home and Dorchester Middle School, be granted until 31st July 2022.
