The closure of
library buildings will reduce the risk of virus transfer in face-to-face
settings. The staff are also able to be redeployed to support the COVID-19
response through the Community Shield which is critical at this time.

Options considered and rejected
Alternative
options would include the partial closure to minimise risk of transfer, however
based on current advice from public health this would still pose an
unacceptable risk to residents.
